We are a third of the way through the 4th quarter and right in the heart of Staffing World where automation continues to be a hot topic.


Currently using Sense, Bullhorn Automation, or any other marketing automation tool in your staffing firm? If the answer is yes, I have a treat for you!


As CMO of Haley Marketing and leader of our Automation Services team, I thought I would share the top 5 automations I would make sure are in place before year-end. These automation ideas will not only keep candidates flowing and clients inquiring, but also minimize reliance on your job board spend as we head into uncertain times.


I call these my “must do” automations for the 4th quarter:

  1. Passive Candidate Check-In – The holidays and 2023 are rapidly approaching. Where are your passive candidates’ heads at? Send out a series of emails or texts asking about their situation. Don’t pitch a job...get their feedback.
  2. Ramp Up Your Re-Engagement – Candidate re-engagement doesn’t only occur with candidates who have been in your ATS for years. It should happen in all stages of the candidate journey. Have these automations in place to perfectly complement your recruiters’ efforts.
  3. 2022 Placed Candidates Check-In – Create an email series asking those who were placed in 2022 to update their contact information in preparation for the 2022 tax season. This is a great way to stay connected and possibly redeploy a few of your star players!
  4. Turn on Strategic Referrals – Get more strategic with how you ask for referrals. Look to paydays, great ratings, and those currently on assignment to help feed you new candidates at the right time. 
  5. Inactive Client Check-In – As 2023 approaches, set up an automated email series checking in with your inactive clients. Get their feedback on the biggest challenges they are facing next year and offer to meet with them to offer solutions.
