Have you read "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill? It's one of my favorite books. And nearly every management guru can trace their advice back to the principles in this book.
Today, I want to share a quick story from that book. It's the story of the gold rush and a man named R.U. Darby.
Darby and his uncle set out to Colorado to strike it rich.
They staked a claim. Purchased drilling equipment. And dug in.
And after just a few weeks, they hit gold! A vein purported to be among the biggest in Colorado history!
But after a short time, that vein of gold disappeared.
Disheartened and exhausted, Darby sold his equipment to a local junk dealer. And he and his uncle went home penniless.
Now, that junk dealer sought advice from a mining engineer. And that engineer realized that Darby had stopped drilling too soon.
He was just three feet away from the biggest gold strike in Colorado history!
